That's back when camping was really camping. Folks did that a lot and there weren't so many motels etc.
It looks like they had it pretty well figured out.

Hmmm… stock rear end and stock emergency brakes. We’re so overly cautious on our Model T builds nowadays. Thanks for sharing a unique picture

This actually gives some ideas on how, if you wanted to reconstruct a T camperm it was built, how they got the most efficient use of space, and how, if one wanted to reproduce a vehicle like this, to make it happen...
