When did the switch changed from 4 rivit to 2 rivit ?

Pretty early on I'd guess, probably sometime in 19 or 20. You have to consider too that at least three or four companies made them, and they didn't all do their riveting the same way.

To piggy back on the initial question here, does anyone know if the lettering on the switch plate was painted white? I have seen them both ways.
