Himico Transmission

Any pitfalls on getting a Himico trans going again - unobtainable bearings, common problems, etc.? I suspect I know the answer, but any chance anyone has a spare clutch pedal or shifter taking up space on a shelf? Has anyone found a suitable replacement shifter - i.e., another brand that happens to fit? I think a ford clutch pedal could probably be modified to work, although it would be much nicer to have an original.

Here is a link to a previous forum post. http://www.mtfca.com/discus/messages/17 ... 1316124771

Also if you Google "himico transmission mtfca" and click "images" there are quite few. I spelled it both ways Himico and Himco.

Here's a couple pan pics. The inspection cover is with it, and at first glance it looks to be a standard 4 dip cover. Note that the wishbone ball joint sits on top of the bracket instead of below it.

Thanks for the heads up on the links. I had kind of done a canvas of old content and didn't come up with much in the way of going through one. I did see someone listed parts for sale many moons ago, but the ad is old enough that it doesn't come up on the site anymore. From looking at literature, there was a pedal change from narrow to wide at some point, perhaps at the same time Ford changed their pedal style.
