Can someone with a 1924 Canadian Model T please post a picture of the front license plate bracket. The USA bracket is mounted under the radiator on the engine mount, the Canadian brackets are mounted under the headlight somehow.

Is it Canadian or an aftermarket accessory??

Believe the '24 Canadian would use same bracket types as USA? The std. T-3664.
Review of the 1923 Canadian Price List of Parts has 2 different part numbers, neither show a sketch.
The 1st listed is T-3660E for '17-'20. Also lists Factory Number as 5706, but that Fac # doesn't appear in Bruce Mc comprehensive listings.
This may be one of under the headlamp type, T-3660E? On an early Canadian '15-'16 with plate under the headlamp.

The 2nd listed is T-3662 right, and T-3663 left, for '20-'21. Being separate, these would be the typical 2 piece short brackets for under the spring clamp/motor mount.
Now this '24-'25 is showing a license bracket under the headlamps, but that bracket may differ from the pictured one in this thread, and it hangs down and clears the radiator apron, which the short arm one may not?

So by 1924 this std. bracket T-3664 would likely have been used.
Don't have confirmation, so need a Canada Made T expert to chime in

Both of my under head lamp brackets came from Canada - the last one Dan posted, I was under the impression was '26 - '27.

I don't know what Canadian cars had from the factory or dealers.
However, I do know that the brackets (as pictured by Steve T) that clamped onto the front fender bracket under and inside the fender, were sold as after-market accessories in both the USA and Canada.
Having looked at hundreds of era photos, I can tell you that these were much more common in Canada. While the USA sold about ten times as many cars than Canada, about three quarters of model Ts with front license plates mounted that way are Canadian cars (based upon being able to identify the car as USA or Canadian?). Just one of the dozens of details I tend to notice.

Wayne, on Steve's photo, wouldn't the clamping section need to be angled by twisting it to allow it to be fitted to the angled fender bracket? I think that straight-on clamp is meant to bolt around the left headlight stalk. That way it gets the plate out of the way of the crank handle. I have seen similar brackets out here, and our cars were Canadian sourced.

As Allan has eluded to - here's one attached to our '19 Centerdoor - I have an anti-kick device installed so this bracket got my plate out of the way - you can see how it's angled to to keep the plate straight.

Yes that larger version is later 3664 '24-'27 with two part numbers, as the other part is 3664B , for the TT motor mount/ spring hanger uses larger dia. threaded studs, so the holes are larger in those. And the other is '22-'23 style 3664 riveted version.
The '21 and earlier use the 2-pieces of brackets, 3662, 3663.
FY
I....this photo of a very original Canadian '26 runabout was posted in an older thread, shows the typical under the crank
mounting , likely the #3664, as no headlamp post on the fender mounted lamps of the '26. And the fender mounted tie bar lamps used the clips on the tie bar for the plate as all late '26-'27s do.
[/b]
So with the many comments on the bracket to headlamp stalk, seems that this is Canadian part #3660E in the Canada Price List of Parts 1919 and 1923.

I probably should have included this picture when I started this thread. I found this photo on-line, it is the same picture Langs Old Car Parts had on its catalog cover a couple of years ago. It is I believe a Canadian assembly line in 1924. You can tell its Canadian because the touring has hinges on the drivers door and a swing out lower and upper windshield, which USA production didn't have in 1924. The front license plate bracket can be seen under the passenger side headlight and appears to be centered under the headlight. It does not attach to the headlight since it appears on the touring and it has no fenders and headlights. It might attach to the front fender bracket or mount with the fender bracket bolt(s).

That photo is from the Sweden Assembly plant, c. 1925-6. Did a close up and yes there is a bracket under the headlamp post.
Close up shows the license plate bracket on this sedan on the assembly conveyor.
But this bracket is very different from the 'cast' bracket of the Canada part, do suspect this is the bracket USA #3664, because of the wide slots and the rivet construction from sheet steel.
Mounting that bracket to the headlamp post nut would be easy, as the bracket has two holes for under the spring clip, just use the outer hole and the bracket will stick out to hold the plate away from the radiator apron!
Am guessing that by maybe '23? or so, the cast bracket was gone and replaced by this #3664, but don't have a late Canadian Price List of Parts to identify its part number. But clearly it is very like the USA, but mounted under the passenger headlamp. Due I suppose, because of the right hand drive laws. [/b]
This photo is from USA production, dated July 1924 in lower right corner, can be seen rather clearly the later one-piece #3664 front license plate bracket under the front spring/motor mount clip.

Note that the two brackets - right 3662 and left 3663 - have a dog-leg so the license plate doesn't interefere with hand crank. Below are two additional photos of the brackets showing the dog-legs. It's too bad that they aren't being reproduced.
The third photo shows similar brackets sold by the vendors. Unforunately, they do not have the dog-leg and, in my experience, don't work.

I have another post mount - I'll take a photo later - it doesn't have any angle so it would have to mount to a straight up post.

Hi All
Interesting discussion. I went out into my parts pile to pull out the ones that I have here. These ones are angled for the front headlight post. And they are all marked T 5706 on them. But interesting, 3 different brackets, each one has slightly different markings stamped for the number.
And it doesn't appear to show in the Canadian parts book for 15-17 that I have (Nov. 16 printing). So perhaps it came out later during '17 or even '18.
Saving these for some work in progress projects in the garage.

Thanks for the photos!
That is the animal, correct under headlamp bracket for the Canadian Ts.
So this is the T-3660E for '17-'20 . Factory Number 5706

Here's another bracket I have - mounts on a straight post to have the plate parallel to the car.
