Priming Rod, T-4588 length.

Having mislaid my priming rod I need to make a new one and I have a question about the length. Is the length listed in the Parts Price Lists the overall length of the rod and knob or just the rod? If it is the length of the rod, is it the overall length of the rod or the length from the bottom of the threaded section to the end of the rod (bend)? Thank you for looking.

Priming choke wires sold by our vendors are the same length with the pull grip already made. Installed length thru the radiator depends on the carburetor and intake manifold sizes.. what year and model do you need this inside choke rod for ???

If the picture on your profile is your car, need to measure. The 4588 rods come in different lengths, depending on what body style you have. You said threaded knob and bend. The style that runs from inside the car through the firewall is this type. The other one is a piece of brass wire.
This is assuming you need the one from inside the passenger area to the carb and not the one from the radiator back to the carb

T-4588 Priming Rod, not T-4431 Carburetor Priming Rod (wire). The Priming Rod that was bought as a replacement from the vendors does not match any of the lengths listed in the Parts Price List for any of the Priming Rods, for any year/model, no matter what way/configuration you measure it. The closest it gets is to T-4588-B (1/2 inch too long) or T-4589-B (1/2 inch too short). Not to mention, the hole for the cotter pin is so far inboard to the bend its useless. I need to know what way they measure/measured the lengths listed in the Price List so I can make one the right length.

Pep : .... The answer to your problem is simply to call your favorite parts seller, discuss your problem with them, and I'm sure they'll take care of your answer.

The measure is made OverAll. From top of knob to centerline of the rod. (At the bend where the rod engages the bell crank hole.)
Don't know much on repro parts, but most need some massaging to make 'em fit. 
Do know the #4588D factory measure is same as my measure of Overall. That is 13 1/16" overall. Right at the hole in the bend, where that is the center of the rod. Makes sense as that is the point of entry of the bend. And know that this rod fits '23-'25 open cars. (the 2 lower rods in the photo are for '23-'25 open cars.

Pep .... What year and body style are you referring? The dash rod goes from the dashboard into the engine compartment attaches to the top lever of a bell crank, the bottom lever attaches with a wire to the carburetor choke.

I couldn't find a reference to
T-4589-B (1/2 inch too short) assume its T-4587-B)
Would T-4588-E at 17-1/8" be the one? Could you remove the knob on the T-4588-B (or T-4587-B) and shorten that end and replace the knob I think the knob is only held in place with by a Split Spring Roll Dowel Pin
