Possible to date a part?

Hello, I recently found a universal joint at a flea market and bought it as a novelty to clean. After cleaning, I found a Ford marking, and did some googling which brought me here. Is it possible to tell the year or type of vehicle/engine this part was used in? It is marked on various parts "Ford" "T49"
"T45"

Any insight appreciated.
Thanks!

The "T" number is most likely the Ford Factory number and that u-joint fits all years & models.

Very interesting! Thank you both! I will do some googling on these vehicles and edify myself! :D
