WHAT IS IT??

I picked up this tool today @ the Long Beach swap meet. I think its a drive shaft sleeve puller. Never seen one like it.
Anyone have one like it?
I am sure there is a locking collar missing.
The only marking is "TRUTH" stamped in the large collet hex. Who made it?

A picture of one complete would be helpful for reproducing the missing collar.
Thanks in advance.

My grandmother was born and raised in Mankato, MN. (Michael Landon, whoops, I mean Pa Ingalls, would make the occasional trip from Walnut Grove to Mankato.)

I'll have to keep my eyes open for Cowden Truth Tools at estate sales swap meets.

Here is a history of the company:

When the web page opens, there are links to tool catalogs that have nice selections of speciality automotive tools for Fords (including the original poster's tool) and other makes.

Here’s a direct link to the Cowden Truth Tool catalogues of 1926 and 1928 as posted above. The puller is in the 1928 printing.

That’s a great find! Too bad the collar is missing.
A replacement could be made fairly easy.

I’ll bet these were forgotten over time for not knowing what they were made for. I don’t think I’ve seen one on the forum but probably missed it if it was.
