Clear Coil???

Post by Dan Hatch » Sun Jan 13, 2019 12:39 pm

Anyone know anything about where this came from. I have had it for a few years, got it off Tbay. Were they used in classrooms? Thanks, Dan

Dan that is exactly what is. A training coil to show the internals, some even had tap in wires to show voltages in operation! Pretty Cool!

It looks like the potting stuff used in modern electronics. I saw it used at Chrysler years ago on the cars brain boxes. Don't know where to get any but I'm sure it's out there some where.

Neat. Do those labels have any writing?

Once took one and removed the side wood and labeled the parts for fun. Many unfamiliar with the Ford coil haven't ever looked inside

Dan: Those are not labels. They are the wooden blocks inside the coil.
I want to know if anyone knows who made them and when. Looks like they used old parts in a clear plastic box. Also has a new type cap that is kind of hidden. Thanks, Dan.
