I am posting this in case anyone else runs into this issue not a knock to the product.

Don had a Genuine Nu-Rex regulator on his car. At the end of the parade on Saturday he had a full out blowing fuses short. He brought me the generator to check it out as it was the last thing that could be the cause. What I found was when I put the generator with regulator attached on the KR Wilson generator station and went to hook up the negative terminal on the battery was a big spark. I pulled the cover off. The lead from the diode was riveted in place with an aluminum rivet which was loose, also the wrap that kept the heat sink from making contact with the cover was missing part of it. This was the first time the cover had been off. Best I can tell is the nut that holds the heat sink, diode in place had come loose and the heat sink was making contact with cover although I did not see any sign of arching. With the cover off it worked fine. He is going to rewrap the top of the heat sink after he grinds of some material on the corners to give it a little more wiggle room also is going to remove the aluminum rivet and use a screw.
