steve is correct. The camp is in one central location - Nathanaels property. The tours are day tours and we will return to the same location.


Wayne, you can go. Im driving 2200 miles to get there!

Typically we have camped to save the cost of the hotel on tours.
Are pets allowed?
I can't drive the speedster and carry camp gear so my options are trailer there or drive the Buick IF I can get her ready in time. She is new to me and has yet to be road ready or driven. Would be a heck of a break in cruise.

Pets are allowed. There is plenty of space. We have a pond.

There will be three general camp areas.

one for the main historic camps
one for the historic camp people who want to be separate from others for whatever reason - quieter, less cooking smell, less talking, running a cpap or dont want to hear everyone farting all night.
one for modern camping equipment that is hidden from everyone else.

I have the speedster but seems a little ridiculous for a camping trip with the gear ect. Eventually the Buick will be a tow car for the speedster. Fyi I sent you an email with my phone number.

Okay Chad! I did a couple camping trips in my first speedster over forty years ago! I would consider that again now if I could get away and be there. A speedster for two is no worse than backpacking, and I did that also a long time ago. Sleeping bags, a ground cover tarp (don't want dampness soaking up through the sleeping bag!). An overnight bag with a change of clothes, and some food (that does not require refrigeration), a small cooking pot and utensils for canned or dry beans, and some matches in a keep dry container. How much more does one need?
Lash it all together on the back of the car or on the floor under your knees.
For a can-opener? Wipe off the screw driver and pliers in your speedster's tool kit. Been there, done that.
If the Buick isn't ready? Go for it!

Someone isn't too happy with your idea. . .
A friend of mine and I took my speedster into Yosemite for Christmas one year, had all the luggage tied on ect. If we take the speedster it would be a trailer to the event as I haven't had time to fix the ruckstel popping out of gear. That would mean a modern and trailer loaded with the camp

In all honesty we would drive the speedster to events all over the country IF we could afford the motel rooms. Building the Buick gives us the option to carry a camp and stop at campgrounds. Trailering the speedster opens up T events. The more I dig into the Buick the more I like it, totally different than a T and each are excellent in their own regards. Yesterday while removing the door panel so I could get a working door handle I found an ad for installation of car radios, torn but all the pieces are there dated 1936. I'm thinking it may have been part of the install of the radio that's in the car.

Model T camping sounds like a lot of fun. I backpacked across the grand canyon a few years ago. Carried everything for the four day tour. It was one of the highlights of my life. Model T camping would most likely have the same results.

That all sounds wonderful!
I especially like the radio paperwork hidden inside a door! Adds another dimension to a car with an early radio installation in it!

The Buick lives, motor camp here we come! The top may be missing, dents, dings lots of future work but it moved under its own power today. I just switched intake/carb, rewired everything, switched to 12v (guess that means I have 6v stuff for the swap meet), and almost have the fuel tank functional again. Now to finalize things and start getting gear together.

It was a blast, still having issues with my cutout so I'm running without a generator. 200 more miles to go to get home today. Stopped for lunch so I figured I'd upload some pics. We took the puppy and she was so good I cooked up some wild rabbit

Good looking Buick! And a great looking camping outfit. Happy that you guys went, and took the pup with you!

The Buick completed her 800 mile shakedown trip. I have a cover gasket to make and diode cutout before I start cosmetics. The speedster is running good with a couple tweaks needed.

And it sounds like you and yours enjoyed it. That I like to see.
