I recently completed a coil project for a ‘13 T. The owner has a Heinze box but wanted KW style coils. So four fresh wood boxes in the form of Heinze but KW points and coils. This is a great option for touring. Use the KW’s for touring and keep the Heinze for show.

That is exactly what I should do for my 1912 (I have Heinz coils). I don't know if this is a service you might offer, but I would be interested in a set of coils like that.

I can remember when we had to do that, but then RV started making the correct points. Since the KW points are more common, it probably still isn't a bad idea. I've always used KW coil boxes in my 13's anyway, and like them. RV made me a brand new '13 KW coil from a junk one a few years ago. I have it in my living room on top of my display cabinet. From my own experience, I have found the original 1913 KW coils to be very reliable without having to do anything to them.

Where we you when I went to a Truefire system in 1994 when my chocolate van hit the road? Not that I have ever had any trouble with the True fire, but I did wind my stock of working Heinze coils down from seven to three, before I fitted it. While the True fire continues with its excellent performance, I should probably make alternative arrangements as an insurance policy.
