We have a new camping video on our YouTube page. We went for a 3-day 2-night camping trip in the Ozark National Forest of Arkansas. This was a trip down memory lane for Kathy and me as it is the areas we grew up in as kids. The creeks were still running pretty good for mid-July. There is quite a bit of T footage in the video, mixed in with some historical sites for our local viewers. We also try to make the videos appeal to the overland camping groups as well as us old T guys. We have had really good responses from lots of younger folks wanting to know about the Ts and using them for camping and road trips. Who knows, maybe this is a way to help recruit more Model T owners ?? If you like what we are trying to do, please subscribe or hit the like button. It helps us be more visible on google searches. We are not monetized as we are just doing it because we like to not to make money. Please let us know any suggestions you may have. We are new to this YouTube thing, so any suggestions are appreciated. We have a total of 7 videos at this time.

Most folks would view your adventure as being enough work but to add video and staged shots takes it to another level

Scott. Till we started filming, I had little knowledge of what's involved. We filmed 163 separate videos, plus hundreds of photos, to get the 28 minutes of footage we used on the final YouTube video. I believe it was about 14 hours total video time in the 163 separate videos. It took us about 2 weeks of evenings to edit the video clips. Then because we have limited upload speed it took 47 hours to upload. Plus, two trips to the local historical society to verify dates and locate old photos of the landmarks we went to. We also had to carry 12 extra gallons of gas since the gas stations are very far apart in that part of the country.
One other thing I was not able to convey in this video about the wreck. If you watch the clip closely just before I start talking about the "Event" It shows me doing a downshift of the Warford from 3rd warford to 1st Warford. That is the same shift I missed that caused the wreck. It took me awhile to realize what I did wrong.
When I made the shift that caused the wreck I was not fully aware of what gear I was in. Because I thought I was in 2nd Warford because the stalled speed was so slow. I shifted straight forward into what I thought was 1st Warford. In reality I was in 3rd Warford and shifted into the unused gate above third Warford. In the few seconds I fumbled around trying to find a gear it was all over. The two Ts behind me and myself figured from the time I stalled till I was wrecked at the bottom of the hill was 7 to 9 seconds. I now have set the shift lever to a position that gives me a visual reference as to what gear I'm in at any time. I'm hoping to make a video soon trying to explain in detail the perfect storm that caused the wreck. Thanks for watching ..

Donnie thanks for sharing please give my thanks to your copilot too. It’s a wonderful thing to see couples enjoying a hobby together and then sharing that adventure with others. I’ll give a shoutout to Scott too for his videos also. It’s a real commitment to share just based on the time to produce & edit the fruits of your adventures for others to live a bit vicariously through those videos, keep it going.

Greetings from the Missouri Ozarks! I am near Berryman in the Mark Twain National Forest. The T is very much at home off the pavement. For newbies with a camera, you are doing great! Keep em coming.

Bravo! Nicely done. As I watched I wondered, "Would this be better with music?" I think the answer is no. I like the ambient sound. It adds to the realism. The one standout technical glitch is wind noise. Let me know when you get that one figured out, because I haven't yet.

Steve, I believe you can put a foam "sock" over the mike to block the wind but not the sounds you want. Steven at Fliver channel on YouTube has some good tips on making movies.

Yes. According to some internet reading since I posted it has to be "open cell" foam. I aim to hunt up some of that and try it.

Steve. Wind noise seems to be the main issue most all youtubers deal with. So far we have just used the camaras mic. Our next learning curve is going to be audio techniques. We need to learn how to add music, do audio dubs, change the audio levels that we record with the video to louder or softer as needed. Every video has been a new learning curve.

This is a fun and charming video! The trip looks like a lot of fun. I’m sure the making and editing of the video took a long time but the end product made it all worthwhile. Next time I’d be happy to take turns driving. Thanks so much for sharing.

Marty. Thanks for the praise. We could use another driver since Kathy will not drive the T except in an emergency. Only problem would be where to put you. When loaded with camp gear there really is not a inch to spare

You two have a natural eye for capturing and constructing gorgeous, compelling videos! And you are willing to make the super human effort that is needed to film, photo, research, and gather all the clips and photos that you need, before you even begin the massive editing job! Well done again. Every time I see a new video pop up in my feed from Camp and Adventures, I get excited to put it up on the big screen and enjoy.

I am a YouTube noob, but I have made some headway on dealing with wind noise. Filming oneself talking, while driving an open car, has forced me to experiment. If there is any way I can help - you know I am happy to. Just reach out.

Thanks Flivver. You have quiet a few videos yourself. It's a lot of work but we enjoy making them . Our next learning curve is audio. Every video we try to learn a new technique. Audio is our last hurddle of what I would call basic techniques. Then we will start on the fancy stuff. We need multiple cameras, a drone, a new DSLR camara with a very long lens. But that all takes time and money. We are currently at 7 videos. As soon as it cools off a little we will be back out and about. Does anyone have any ideas as to content. Some of my ideas are
1 filming natural wonders of the Ozarks while out with the T
2 We are thinking of a camping trip with the T and also have our kids and grandkids use our modern overlanding rig. To show the real difference in now and then.
3 We have another Modern Overland rendezvous and expo in October that we set up a display of vintage camping for the younger generation to see. The last two events went very well. So we have plans to film it .
4 We have a local club tour in the Ouachita mountains we may do and film it. No camping just a normal T tour
5 Service videos of maintenance on our T.
