Radiator availability - Black Cars - Aug 2023

After my most recent radiator issues, I started looking for a new one. I saw wait times measured in weeks and months, and heard from other forum members about their long waits.

With all this, I sent my radiator to the shop and figured I'd get on the wait list. I called most of the well known parts vendors. Well, it turns out right now there are some radiators available immediately. Chaffins has the tall/high flat tube radiators in stock and Snyders has the low flat tube ones. I was after a low flat tube for a black car. I didn't ask about other styles at the time. So if you are looking for a new flat tube radiator for a black car, wait no more.

As far as my old radiator, the shop was able to stop the leak but they agreed that it may be time for a new one.

Ordered from Ecklers but they sent what appears to be a Model A radiator. They gladly refunded my money but when I went to order a replacement the 2024 price jumped to about $500 higher (had a coupon and 15% military discount that would lost, plus tax will be higher). They couldn't guarantee I wouldn't receive another Model A, so not ordering at this time. Sadly they show the one I ordered as an 'Open Box' at half the price. Luckily they have photos so a buyer should see it isn't a Model T High Radiator.
So... I'm still looking for a High Radiator (1924 TT), or discussions on core replacement/repair.

Why don't you just call Langs or straight to Brassworks? It'll be drop shipped from them no matter which way you go.

Call Snyders. They try to keep them in stock and buy them by the pallet so they always have stock on order even when they’re out. They often have them in stock or at least a shorter turnaround when Brassworks themselves or other vendors that don’t stock them and drop ship may have a long wait. Shipping from Snyder’s is also generally much less expensive than shipping from Brassworks (unless you are very near California).

Snyder radiators are made by Walker and a friend got a high radiator in three days from Ohio to Maryland.

Have you tried Brassworks? I have bought 2 from them and had very good radiators. Mine are the flat tube high radiators for 26-27. You can get directly from factory and eliminate the middle man.

That is INCORRECT INFORMATION.

The Snyders Model T radiators are BRASSWORKS.

You should verify your information and correct your post.

Jim, I think you are confused in this. To my knowledge, after Walker sold to Johnsons, they are only manufacturing street rod radiators. They do manufacture Model-T radiators however they are for street rods.

Snyders does sell walker radiators. Yes for street rods

they also sell radiators for regular model T,s. But where does it say there Brassworks? I just see made in the USA. Under additional information it says nothing different. To verify you would have to call Snyders I guess.

It says “BRASSWORKS” all over the box they come in. Also, if you call them and ask, they will tell you what brand they are.

I said it before and I will say it again. I wish there was a less expensive radiator option especially for speedster people. Nothing wrong with Brassworks, I have a newer one on my car and it works great.

I was wrong again!

Actually the 2020 Snyders Catalog offers both Brassworks round or flat tubes for the Model T and Walker radiators for the Hot Rod Model Ts.

My friend's Model T radiator that he got in three days from Snyders was the original Brassworks type.

I got a photo, no doubt about it now

I can confirm that the radiator I ordered through Snyders in August was made by Brassworks.
