I haven't put Scandinavian bands in a T in almost 20 years but I am going to soon, do folks still find that pre-soaking them in oil is the best method?

Thanks,
Jim

I used to now put them in dry
Add a quart of oil over them after installed

I pre-soak for a couple days - everyone does what works for them.

Put the bands in and close up the cover. Start the engine and let it idle for a while. With all that oil splashing around they will be soaked up quickly.

I soak them in automatic transmission fluid. I have changed one lining without soaking successfully, but next time I changed it the rivets didn't want to go in as they should. Change of material perhaps? I soaked it and no problem.
