What do you guys use to face off the brass spindle bushings? I bought one from a guy who used it one time to do his car, he bought from one of the Vendors. It wont cut anything!! It doesn’t look damaged, just very dull. No sure it can be sharpened? I don’t really need one at the moment but will someday.

GG, take a picture of the facing tool you’re talking about. If it’s the sort of a copy of the Stevens T290 tool. It should be effective if used correctly. Best John

Mine is an older copy version from a out of business concern, of the Stevens unit. Works well. Has a knob at the bottom, fit to a small key and keyway to lock the bottom fulcrum disc, you then turn to tighten the reaming pressure, checking as you go for the amount of material to remove.

Got this one from Snyders. I used it in my drill press and it worked great!

I have the tool like Arbs has as above. I wish someone would reproduce the Stevens tool like Dan has.

I use an original dealership tool. It works nicely. BTW, I only “face” the flange of the lower bushing so the spindle fits in the axle yoke. Why ??.. Because the entire weight of the front of the T rests on the top bushing flanges and I want the most ‘meat’ there.
