Can someone tell me the taper on the end of an axle?

This post mentions a taper of 1.5 inches/foot.

For the dimensions shown in the drawing in this post, the taper is 3.546 degrees
A 1.5 inch change in diameter per foot of length gives a taper angle of 3.576 degrees

A little trig work, I come up with 3 degrees 15 minutes. Or 3.25 degrees/side. 6.5 degrees total
