   Can't stop laughing! After the wife and I got home from a tour with friends, I parked Clara outside of the barn so I could put the neighbors electric mower on the lift for repair. Heard noises and came out only to spot this! 8 out of neighbors 10 Ghineahens. They were thorough...circling it at least 3 times and even checking underneath for correctness!

Very good birds to have around, they love bugs and will alert you to anything coming into their "territory" trouble is, that is anything and EVERYTHING sometimes. I had a couple and the hen was taken by a hawk, for over a year the rooster lived on or around the carport so he could see his reflection my car bumper. He finally ventured out 1 day, only to meet the same fate as his hen. I miss having them around.

Road runners will hang around cars and interact with their reflections in glass, paint or chrome. Smashed bugs are probably also attractive to them. They hate snakes, and have been known to kill rattlesnakes.

When I lived in Massachusetts there was a Robin who repeatedly would attack that "other" Robin that he could see in the rear view mirror of my Oldsmobile station wagon.

They tend to judge brass cars as purists would, but often mistake grease cups for zerks  . Don't expect too much. No harm, no fowl.

They look identical but I’ll bet the neighbor has names for each one. LOL! Jim Patrick
