I’ve been through this Forum looking for a concise explanation of what the symbols before every post mean and have had no luck. So how about it? And make it complete please.

Here you Go...
You can click on the emojis to see what they mean.
Post icons have meaning will add later but you can see that some are defined below like the fire for a hot topic and ! for a sticky topoic

So Blue means you haven't read the most recent addition to the post.

Oh thanks! Very informative. This should be available to anyone who happens to ask this question because a search is rather pointless. One explanation is missing though. A hot topic has what looks like a film reel in blue next to it. I see it in the icon list but what does the reel mean.

Pretty sure the star means that you the reader has posted to that string. The paper clip means there are photos or maybe links in a post. The paper with folded corner, if you have read any of the post, clicking on it will take you to newest unread post.
The only one I am not sure of is the small circle with 3 dots that sometimes is seen at the bottom of the "read announcement icon".

Yeah Frank pretty much covered all that. The one you don’t know about is the one I’m asking about.

While emoji's & Post icons have a name that may imply a meaning they may not necessarily be selected by the person making the post to align with it.
I doubt if many take the time to use them based on their meaning. For example: I use the light bulb so on my entries in the classifieds so I can find my entries more easily.
The following definitions are emoji definitions

Thanks! Your post about California emissions shows the circle with 3 dots and was wondering about that.

LOL
