Generator Housing Hole

Post by ClockDoc » Tue May 21, 2019 11:57 pm

What are the threaded holes for? There is 1 hole by each field shoe screw.[image]

I watched the Model T Tips video on Generator rebuilding, but these are not mentioned.
Any ideas?

There would only be the two holes to mount the cutout on top. (don't use too long of screws as they can short out the field windings if too long) If there is one hole has each pole screw(4) they do not belong there. Will not hurt anything. Maybe someone repurposed the generator at some point in its life.
I know the voices aren't real but damn they have some good ideas!

Thank you Mark, I feel kind of dumb now because I forgot about removing the cut out from that generator.
Question answered, problem solved, what a great forum.
