Is anybody running Champion 30 Brass Top plugs in their cars? How are they working out?

Never saw a Champion 30 before, please post a picture.

Here is what they look like. The same as the regular T plug but a bit shorter.

Not for T. That doesn't appear to be a pipe thread, and the plug washer included indicates the plug is intended to be run down on it to the shoulder on the hex.

Rich, at first that is what I was thinking. However it is the standard tapered pipe thread and mic's with the same taper on the top and bottom of the threads as the standard T plug. It is not undercut above the threads so I can't see how that ring would ever seat. When installed in the head, it tightens at the same depth as a regular T plug and compared to the standard X body which protrudes into the combustion chamber about 1/4 inch, this plug body extends only about 1/16". The electrode does extend passed the body (see photo) so it is well into the combustion chamber.

That's interesting, Roger ! Thanks for explaining. With a pipe thread, should work in a T, the only sensitive issue being the amount it intrudes into the combustion chamber. Guve them a try and let us know !

Useless factoid for the day - the small one-lung gas engine Maytag provided to power their early square tub grey machines in the model T era also used a Champion plug with a 1/2" pipe thread. When these were still around, I remember seeing them running a model T champion "X" plug ! I doubt if many Ts ever ran on the Maytag plug ! But it could have been done !
