What is the best way to clean the inside canals of a NH Carburetor .

Ive heard that you should have them vaporblasted usually motorcycle shops can do that.

There are brass plugs at the end of each passage. Remove the plugs and soak the carb in carb cleaner. I use an ultrasonic cleaner. Use a wire through the passages to ensure there’s nothing in there. You can plug the passages back up with soft brass like brazing rod. Vapor blasting will make it pretty but won’t clean the passages which are really the important part.

I have always had good luck with the spray type, Xylene based aerosol cleaners with the red small tube that allows for high pressure spraying into the passageways. “Gumout” is a good example but there are all types of brands which work equally well. Jim Patrick

I have soaked in acetone overnight. Then blow out all passages with compressed air. Usually no need to remove plugs. If the idle still doesn't work satisfactorily, then the plugs will need to be removed and do as Andy says above.

I did not have brazing rod but my hardware store had brass screws. I cut pieces from the screw shank.
