Does anyone know if the flange near the front of a T cam is part of the cam machining or is it shrunk on?

Still trying to find a suitable cam for a Rajo OHV head engine.

I'm no expert, but from my experience, the flange near the front of a T cam is usually machined as part of the camshaft. I haven't heard of it being shrunk on separately.

I am certain that the flange is integral to the shaft and not an add-on piece.

If my memory serves me correctly the Rajo rocker arms are a1:2 ratio this will give you almost a 1/2" lift with a stock cam. If valve timing
is what you are looking to change I think Dan McEachern makes a timing gear set for that reason.

I installed a Chaffin's "modified" reground camshaft in my BB RAJO near 30 years ago now - it performs quite well !

Many commercial Rajo heads used 1:1 rocker arms, so be aware.

John, If you are going to run a reground Model T cam you will need to use a late 1924-27 T cam , the cam with the long front lobe. The earlier T cams use a shorter front lobe and a longer front bearing to take up thrust , but require modified front thrust when regrinding because the long front bearing won’t limit thrust on reground cam due to the cut down cam heal .

Kevin is correct about the early year regrind cams but if you have a Bosch timing cover distributer there is a thrust
adjusting screw in the cover for that. & the thrust washer kit is not expensive or hard to install most of the time.
