A good friend of many of us T enthusiasts passed on November 8. As many of you know John was my mentor for the McLaren Wire Wheel business. He was a well spring of information for me. Following is a link to his obituary.

So sad. I always enjoyed seeing him at Chickasha, and tapping into his knowledge of accessory wire wheels.

This is a bummer for the hobby.
Is anyone taking over the wire wheel business, or is that going away? From your original post Mike, you made it sound as if you are running it now.

Sad news about John's passing. Was a great source of info, and skilled at remanufacture too. Once had him re-rivet his new 30x3 1/2 clincher rims on a set of Disteel wheels, perfect job done.
Yes, Mike is continuing the mfg of new wire wheels, beautiful work also.

Wow, I hadnt thought about John for a long time. Never had a chance to meet him in person, but had many phone calls as he was helping me put together a set of Hayes wires. He said he wished he had reproduced the Hayes and was buying up a bunch to consider reproducing them as well.
Always great to talk to, and a pleasure to do business with. He will be missed, you were very lucky Mike to be able to work with him.
My deepest condolences to the family.
Kevin
