If someone could teach me how to decode these engine block numbers on my ‘14 Touring, I would be mighty grateful.

Block was cast on April 14, 1914 - need engine number to determine the day it was cast.
"Kooler" is an accessory water circulator.

Thank you.
I remember now, that kooler is part of that water pump.
I will eventually catch on.
Where on the engine do I look for the serial number?
Thank you,
Greg

A bit backwards it was cast on the date on the block 4-14-14
The stamped number tells when it was made into a motor.
The stamped serial number is above the water outlet on the driver’s side.

The "B" and the "18" are mold and/or pattern identification numbers that were used by the factory to trace back to the cause of defective castings. They have served no purpose for more than a hundred years now.
Steve T meant to say "need engine number to determine the day it was" 'assembled'. The day it was cast is the 4 14 14 as he said.
And you get a rare response. Steve T almost never makes a mistake! He knows his stuff.

As Fred says, the number is stamped above the water inlet. If your car is infested by a water pump the number may be hidden behind it.

Re: From 2018: When was my engine made?
You look it up in Bruce McCalley's Model T Encyclopedia. The best version is on disk. You can also find it on the MTFCA website, but that will only give you the month and year, not the day.

Engine 535883 was one of 660 engines assembled on June 19, 1914. Assembled engines for that day ran from 535401 to 536060.
