How long is a stock drive shaft tube (OAL)

I have a shortened drive shaft tube that fits a unique set of lowering brackets and I need to have the driveshaft cut down to fit it. I don’t have a stock tube that’s not in a car to measure the overall length, to determine how much shorter this tube is from stock. I am calculating the number from the placement of the spring perches but it would be useful to know the stock length of the driveshaft tube as a double check. Anyone have one out that that a measure and tell me the overall length?

An open spool D/S measures 50.5" flange to ball edge.

Thanks. My shortened one is 44 and 3/16. It fits the drop brackets with a Muncie transmission.
Is there a difference in the length of open and closed spool tubes?

The closed spool d.s. has a short lip for the spool to nestle - it's not much - maybe a 1/4" or less - next time I go out in my container, I'll measure it.

Steve's reply indicates the need to take the measurements from the rear end mounting face to the front of the ball, although the nature of the sliding fit of the driveshaft in the transmission means that little difference may not be of any real consequence. Just be sure to get the Universal joint pin hole in the right spot when drilling it.
