Last week Michael Deichmann posted a photo of Ford crates/boxes offloaded in Copenhagen Denmark in the 1920's. They were to be then sent to the Ford factory for assembly. I have been looking at Fords' shipping methods and have a photo from a USA 1921 "Ford News" which shows similar crates on the docks in Havana Cuba. There are 150 Model T's in the crates.
Doing a search not much shows up a early as 1921, ( everything in from the 1950's and later) so does anyone know anything about the Model T's sent to Cuba? They were sent from Port Newark most probably an agent existed and they ordered the T's and unpacked and sold them OR did Ford Detroit have a factory organized to unpack and sell the cars

Looks like you would still see them being driven given the car shortage after Castro took over and anything with wheels was being driven and many of them still are.

Well, wherever they were going, they would be in the minority. Most of the cars in Cuba at that time were larger Buicks and Nash, among other brands. Here is a view of the Havana waterfront in the mid 20s. I see a T coupe in the lower left.

I would think it unlikely that Cuba would be a place where Model T's were not only in great numbers in 1920 -27 as virtually every other city and country worldwide show figures where Fords after the war outnumbered other makes and often all other makes combined.
By 1930 the T had passed its time and city photo's of that period show only the occasional Model T and yes lots of other brands as well as Model A Fords. Still my question remains unresolved
