Covid struck again

Happy and relieved to report that after three weeks of covid illness, I teated negative this morning. It was a tough one requiring a short hospital stay. Although I still have symptoms, they are manageable. I'm so happy I took the antiviral Paxlovid starting the day I tested postive. I'd hate to imagine the outcome otherwise. As it was I was still as sick as I ever had been. I was current on my vaccinations.

I am in same boat. Me and my wife are getting over it too. I had Paxlovid but wife couldn’t take it. Too many reactions to other things she has to take. I don’t feel too bad just get worn out easy. She had it a lot worse.

I’m also getting over a bad bout of Covid and didn’t get paxlovid after testing positive. Was told by local ER to stay home and continue self treating, taking care of myself and drinking lots of water. I took Tylenol severe cold and flu, it worked on the cough and kept me able to sleep off and on, getting up every couple hours for a bathroom break. I’m not current on the shots as I was advised by my doctor after having a reaction to the shot last year to skip the shot this year.

I’ve had COVID three times and this bout was the worst one, and the only bout were I lost taste and smell with the other symptoms. I was really ill the first three days, after 4 days felt pretty good, then bam round two. Since all I was doing was sleeping a LOT, round two was only one day, I started on November 29th and each day getting better. Back to playing in the shop, I tire easy and start sweating easily, so my play time is really limited.

Allan is right - maybe the admin will move it. Anyway, I had kidney surgery on November 15 and think I caught covid in the hospital. Before I was symptomatic I gave it to my wife and daughter. All of us have had all the vaccinations we're eligible for and started Paxlovid the day we tested positive. I had it the worst, with one day of fever, diarrhea, etc. After that it was no worse than a mild head cold. I still isolated until I tested negative on two successive days. I had previously had covid in August 2022 - caught it at a tour banquet. Very mild symptoms then, though I had a dry cough that persisted for a month. I've lost 15 friends, acquaintances and former students who have died of covid. It's nothing to trifle with.

Not completely off-topic as it does relate to our Model T brethren (and thank God, not political). Richard, I hope you improve each day and get back into the swing of things. It seems there is a wave of this crud making its rounds, lots of people have it where I work.
