Is there an easy way to identify whether this spring is 26/7 or earlier. Maybe by the height? If so, what is the height in each case?

Check the Encyclopedia. Go to the "Springs" section for year by year changes.

Could find no info there on how to identify. It doesn't even state there was a difference in shape.

The parts book lists the same spring from '22 to '27. Perhaps the only difference is in the perches.

According to the encyclopedia, 8-leaf, non-tapered, rear with the main drilled for oilers was the same from 18-27.

The leaf count varied by body style but shape did not. UK cars were lower and might have a different shape.

And even if there was a difference when new, 100 years of rebounding will have made that difference hardly discernible.

Pay attention to what Steve says! The sedans, and pickups use a 9 leaf rear spring.

My apology. I was thrown off by some of the parts catalogs that suggests there was a difference.
