For you Model T racing guys there is a great article in the February 2024 Hemmings Classic Car about Charles Montier and his Model T in the 1923 Lemans. Lots of excellent pictures also.

My period hot rod(gow job) project got two pages in the January edition. Look to Hemmings classic on a lot more great articles on model t stuff and other interesting and exciting cars and features.

Chris Martin wrote a book about Charles Montier. Title is "Charles Montier: and his French Racing Fords". I have a copy and saw one of the cars that was featured in the book at the Museum Of American Speed in Lincoln Nebraska. I believe that Chris is a forum member.

Well yes, Hemmings already posted that same report on their online pages last April, surprised to see it again their print magazine but hey, why not? Most of the info and photos are taken from my book (and a couple from the Museum of American Speed). The book is still available from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B6L3Q5TW
I also published it in French but that link is for the English version.
The story traces the Montier family history; Charles's father was a blacksmith, his brother a partner in the Ford garages and his son also raced into the 1930s. The Model Ts in competition started from 1921 and evolved through the 1920s with many modifications until he switched to Model As in 1928. I covered all of the known existing surviving cars (and a couple of fakes and replicas), the OHV cylinder heads, the modified and 'dressed up' road cars and a full list of race, sprint and hillclimb results.
It also includes many photos both new and old.
So thanks again to Hemmings for alerting the wider public, it may help get the story of one of the unknowns of Ford racing history some wider recognition.

I got a little confused at the title for a moment! Lemons is a funeral home around here!

Interesting stroy about those cars!
