Twin spark 4 banger

Trying to help a friend find a suitable distributor for his dual spark 4 cylinder engine. I have a cap that was used on 1929 Graham, 1929 Kissel and 1928-29 Studebaker. This cap was also used on dual spark model T Fords with Rajo and Frontenc and other speed heads. Question is, what Delco distributor did they use? He can modify the cam to 4 cylinder and I have several twin 4 rotors.

Nissan had a dual plug 4 cylinder engine about 1990. I can get you the part number. Onan has a dual plug coil (it fires 2 plugs at the same time). I have adapted the cap and rotor to the popular Bosch distributor people use on T’s.

Hi Les, can you post more details on your conversion to the Bosch distributor to make it a dual spark setup?
Thanks,
Tom

Distributor Cap 4cyl Twin Plug
Our Price: $18.56
Please start by selecting your Vehicle above. If you know our part number please select from options below.
8-Plug Distributor Cap
This is an aftermarket cap for twin plug conversions to 4 cylinder engines in 912 and 356 and Polo Motors.
Aftermarket
Our founders have worked on Porsche cars for decades. They've tried most of our aftermarket products first hand on real cars. Some parts are no longer made by an O.E.M company, or the price difference between genuine and aftermarket has become so large that it makes sense to take the savings. If you have any questions about an aftermarket product, please contact us.

Here is the modern equivalent of the Delco 8 cyl Nash distributor converted to dual spark. These DuCoil distributors were made for early V-8 ('60- '70s)
engines and used two coils- one to fire each bank of cylinders. They use a 4 lobe point cam and a separate set of points for each coil as expected.
Converting them for 4 cyl use involves moving one set of points so that both sets fire at the same time and modifying the dual rotor by offsetting one
side 45 degrees. The price of these distributors has risen over the years as the vintage hot rod guys want them all of a sudden.
The best modern solution is probably the twin spark Nissan distributor noted above.

Dave, the twin plug Ford Ranger 2.3 engine is distributorless.
