My 1915 Canadian Model T has 30x3.5in front tires, correct for a Canadian 1915. Question is, are the rims the same as the T's with 30x3in front tires?
Thanks in advance,
David

The 30 x 3 rim is a inch bigger in diameter!

Canadian front wheels through most of the brass years on through into 1919 and beyond on cars with non-demountable rim wheels? The steel rims, the wooden spokes and felloes, are all the same front and rear. Only the hubs, brake drums for the rear, and bolts (different lengths) are different. The tires may be the same, or in some years the front and rear tires might have been different. I don't know for sure about Canadian production, however USA production some years (especially the mid to late 1910s transition years) sometimes had treaded tires on the rear and smooth tires on the front. Even if the tires were different, the size would be the same, and the tires would be interchangeable.

If you follow the rule, 2 x 3" = 6. Take 6 from 30" and you get a rim of 24". Front tyres of 30 x 3" will not fit on rims made for 30 x 3.5".which fit a 23" rim. while the 30 x 3" tyres on the front of US Fords may have save a few cents for Henry, the Canadian same-size-all-round was a far more sensible solution.
