I need to replace mine. Any tips or pointers for disassembly of door panel, track.....and then reassembly?

I think someone mentioned I should be able to get laminated glass from most local glass places since it's flat. No need to buy used or from a vendor?

Vince go to A Forgotten Model T. He shows the process for a four door and it might help. I got glass form an auto glass place not far from home

1.) roll the drivers window down.
2.) remove the four garnish molding trim pieces.
3.) with a putty knife you can pull the side felt channels away from the frame and remove the tacks from inside those felt channels.
4. Place the felt channels back against the frame.
5.) roll the window back up.
6.) then you can tilt the window toward the inside of the car and roll it up until the window channel comes off the riser.

Thanks for the tips. The edge of the door panels seem to be glued. Is this correct or is there some sort of fastener that the PO didn't use.

The Door panels were originally tacked in place. No adhesive was used.

Would anyone happen to have a piece they could measure and share the dimensions? I'd like to if I can, leave the door intact and order the glass now.

Bad idea? Did Ford tweak glass for each car to make it fit?

If it were me, and what you have fits properly, I would remove it and use it as the pattern.

The illustration of the glass size is good to take with you if you take the car to a glass shop.

Better yet is to take the originals as patterns to the shop if possible.

Remember that the glass is not square!!

Most of the glass shops don’t cut glass for antique cars. Don’t go to the first shop you see but call around and find one that has cut glass for antique cars. Most don’t and are clueless.

Sound advice from everyone. I think with winter upon us, I can pull the glass and source a local glass vendor to take care of this while I work on all the rest.

This book, available in reprint form from the vendors.
