I got this photo from old cars, trucks, and trains on Facebook.

I haven’t seen this photo before but maybe some of you have. The caption was multi purpose T. They must have removed the hand crank to mount it? It looks like it has a priming pump on the side of it.

It may use a Model A style crank. It looks like it has a hand operating priming pump... very nice outfit!

It looks to be chain driven, so it must have some way to disengage the drive... maybe a pin in the drive sprocket or a master link in the chain. Running the pump dry would destroy the packing, besides making a racket and adding a lot of drag.

I can’t tell if it’s a TT truck or car. Any ideas?

A TT could carry a water tank. This looks like it has no tank, so I'd guess it's a T. The suction line appears to be connected directly to the pump, rather than to a tank or manifold.

In regards to the crank issue, my Roberts T marine engine has the front of the crank about 1-1/2” longer than a stock one. This is because the boat propeller is driven from the front of the engine.

Cool picture!
Ed in California 2018 provided a side view of one like it.

I was wondering if the hand pump was to prime the main pump. Regardless it's NEAT!

Anybody know what company made the pump? What’s a search term for that type of T accessory water pump?
It always comes back up as a T engine water pump and we all know what’s that for but not sure about this type of pump.

I've seen a pump like this. It was made by Jaeger.

F. E. Meyers pumps were widely used in the T era.

The pump is fitted to a T chassis because I can see the two running board truss rods under the vehicle and in front of the rear wheels ....n

I’ll bet the pump was really balanced so it wouldn’t shake the car or create a vibration. Mounting to the frame would help but the balancing of the impeller would be a must. My opinion.

I thought everybody says adding a water pump to a Model T is a waste of time. This one sure looks useful!! (Sorry, I just couldn't resist)!! Kind Regards

I have used Honda portable pumps that have a hand primer pump to prime the suction line to the pump. I notice this pump has a very large discharge hose to supply such a small nozzle.
