I have a cast iron intake with a huge hole like the aluminum ones have in them, It is a first for me, it has some numbers cast in it also like the aluminum ones have.

Under manifolds Bruce has:

1911-1913
Intake manifold changed to straighter aluminum type.

1913-1914
Intake was the same pattern as 1912 but was now made of cast iron (as per letter dated December 19, 1912).

Note the MTFCI 7th edition judging guidelines would put that change from aluminum to cast iron around Oct 1913. So yes, Ford changed from aluminum to cast iron and used a similar design.

Hap, This one has the intake hole that is large enough to get your thumb in instead of the index finger, like the early aluminum ones, will see if I can get some numbers off of it for exact year. Thanks, this one is a first for me on the cast ones.

I went out and blasted it, numbers on it are A T512 B 4 I am not a computer guy so it is tuff for me to find things on these things. Thanks on any help. Joe

Joe, they are really good property. I have two in use, one with a straight bore Holley NH on my tourer. The other one on my roadster has a Stromberg OF. They sure are better than the stranglers used later on. Leastways, that is what I tell myself. The tourer setup yielded 2 extra horsepower on the dyno. How much of that was carburetor or manifold I don't know.

Mine has the numbers " A T612 B 4 " and are on the early cast iron intake manifolds. As I understand it, Ford used the same mold for the first iron manifolds as they had been using for the aluminum manifolds. I will be installing this one on my Feb/March '14 touring

Thanks Bill, That is what I was thinking they had done also but needed the second on it, sure looked like the aluminum but it was cast, did not know if it was a repop or original.

Joe, you will be very satisfied with that larger cast iron intake. Had one on my car similar setup is mentioned with a straight through Holly, foolishly changed to a regular issue or later issue cast iron and even though it ran a little bit smoother I was not happy with the lesser top end and responsiveness

I've got one, too. Was going to use it, but wanted a hole in the manifold to mount a Wolf whistle (of all things) and I didn't want to ruin a rare manifold, so I "hogged out" a dime a dozen standard manifold.
