I use 140w in my TT and have since 1965. I don't drive it here in Michigan in the winter. I think the oil would be too thick. As to level, recommended up to the filler plug. I keep mine just below that level. Have fun.

If it has been sitting for a while, don't forget to add some at the upper plug at the worm drive. Unless it is early and does not have the plug, in that case I would jack one side up and let it run for a while then recheck the level. don't forget to chock the wheels so it does not drive off.

Thanks for the replies. I have always used 600wt filled to the pipe plug fill point on all my A's and T's. Reading in Murray Fahnestocks book on the Model T it talks about using 1 to 1.25 lbs of heavy grease or one pint of steam cylinder or 600wt oil in model T rear axle. This just got me to wondering what others were using in there axle. This is my first TT- it has been sitting for at least 15 years and I was wondering about the upper plug in the rear axle.
