AACA Grand National
Is anyone else going to be at the Auburn Grand National this weekend? My car needed a MAJOR cleaning but I'm getting there. Hope to see a few of you there.

Re: AACA Grand National
Health problem is keeping me home. We had plans to go. Had my car out there 3 years ago for a repeat preservation.
A very nice area for a meet.
Good luck.

Re: AACA Grand National
I will need a bit of luck. This is a car that has been driven a LOT since it was last shown competitively, which was in about 2010 or 2011. The last time out we got smoked but that was a concours event. So we'll see. Maybe the rain they are predicting will come, putting the judges in an apathetic mood!

Re: AACA Grand National
I’ll be there with a 1911 Commercial Roadster provided I can make it run tonight and polish all the brass which we half about half done. Making it run is should be no big deal. The last time ours was at an aaca meet was around 2011.

Re: AACA Grand National
I don’t know yet. My son is a senior and was playing in a district baseball game at noon. If they won they were saving him to pitch in the championship game. They won and I left at 3. They lost but he pitched a complete game again. They lost 8-9 after 4 delays for lightning. It was one of the best days I have had in a long time I got to spend time with my father, my friend and then watching my son play in his last baseball game. Only two of two of the runs he gave up were his. I’ll be checking on the aaca website early this week. Some things are just more important than win or lose as far as I’m concerned.

Re: AACA Grand National
It was just posted the 1911 roadster got its senior grand national award and Eric won what he was up for. The last time we have had the 11 out was in 2011. It was restored in 2001 I did a lot more work on it to make it pretty in 2006-2007.

Re: AACA Grand National
Every one of the Ts shown at the Grand National won the award being sought. It was a very good day for all of the T owners in Auburn.
I agree with Mark, this was a very good day overall. I too got to spend a day with my friend, a father figure, renewed some friendships and forged a couple new ones. This is a great hobby.

Re: AACA Grand National
I was certainly impressed with the line-up of Model T's at Auburn. I usually instruct continuing judges education (CJE) on Model T's and would have loved all those impressive examples to use for my class, however we don't do the CJE classes at a Grand National event, so missed the opportunity. There were some fabulous restorations and has already been mentioned, some earlier restoration that have been very well cared for. Cars at the AACA Grand National are the best of the best so everyone should be proud of having taken part in this great event. It's seldom you get the chance to attend an event with two 1903 Cadillacs and a 1903 Ford present.
