I should sell mine (dated late 1925), NOT!

About 5 years ago, I offered about a half dozen of them to NEW members of the Houston Space City T club for the friendly price of $25.00 each, and I'm sure each new member was glad to get one at that price.

There are at least two editions. The one used up to 1925 and the improved T edition for 1926-7. The later one has been reproduced as a soft cover.

Good books but way to much for that paticular auction. That can be found at used book sellers for less. It goes to show that if somebody wants one bad enough they will pay for it.

The other problem is it sets a new high for books like this, and the trend is one I watched in the antique motorcycle market...
Used to be where old bikes were the "young kid and poor guy" way into the hobby... then someone decided to start exploiting the "cool old motorcycle thing", a couple TV shows played up the hype, and now a bike that cost me $1000 is worth about 25x that . And now I'm watching the same thing happen to T's... this book is an example of it, a book that was pretty reasonable, one I bought for $25 going for $225??!! One you can get the copies of for not too much.

They show up often on the used book sites. Always under $100. Abe Books is a good start. That was sure a lot of money, but it looked like a mint copy. I have quite a few of them, and that is what I used to restore my '25. It enabled me to get the placement of all the wires and stuff like that in the correct locations. Back when I first started with Model T's, I had a Polyprints edition. That is where I learned almost everything about T's. I have an original edition out in the garage that I refer to occasionally. I think I bought it for $10.

Mine had a green cover, and someone gave it to me baack when I was about 11 or so... and I used it to build the '20 chassis that was supposed to be Dad and My Speedster... Literally wore it out - held it together with rubber bands, pages falling out in sections...
Probably the coolest book I've ever owned!

I keep my original hardbound copy in the living room for night reading ... and the greasy repop in the garage.

What mark said^. I also hole punched my shop copy and put in a small ring binder so it lays flat when reading while working. It was coming apart so it was a win win.

I found this while cleaning up the garage a few days ago.
It was with a bunch of old books my dad had.
