TT Express Bed Floor

I am in need of some help. I want to replace the sheet of plywood the P.O. used for the floor of a steel TT Express bed/box. I believe there are 5 steel rub strips over the seams between 7 floor boards, 2 steel side strips for between the outer 2 boards and the steel box, and 1 steel strip across the back end at the tail gate to cover the 7 board ends.

Lang's sells the 5 steel rub strips and a hardware package for a Pick Up box (bolts, nuts, clips, and washers). I looked in the Encyclopedia, the Vowell Art Drawings, and on this forum, with no Luck.

Does anyone have an interior photo of an express bed floor? I need to verify my assumptions and count the number of bolts needed.

Thank you for reading this and for posting a photo if you have one.

Good Luck,
Terry

Here's a few TT beds showing the bed strips, could be 5 is correct. These are longer than the pickup bed strips of course.

I'll check the TT book but I don't believe the Express bed & Flatbed use the same wood.

Steve, Thank You. I believe the flat/stake bed is wider in the floor/deck as the express has the curved lower corners where the sides meet the floor. The lengths may be the same though, and the hardware should be the same or close to it. I don't have a TT book to check.

Thank You Robert. That sure helps. Is this photo the same as your TT? I hope mine comes out as nice as the one in the photo.

Not to derail the current convo, but does anyone know if the TT express box side panels are re-popped? I ask because I really want to build up an 8ft Express for my '24 TT.

I have two RPU boxes I can join in the middle and make one, but it would be nice to start with the right sides at least.

Not that I've heard of Clayton. My Gramps' C-Cab express had a rotten floor so one of my Dad's mechanic's replaced it with ribbed steel plate - hell for stout but added a bit of weight !

My flatbed appears to be a well worn, but unmolested original. The
plank's grain looks to be ash ? I gave the thirsty wood a big drink of
mineral spirits and linseed oil .... a proper vintage treatment for rot
and weather resistance, about 5 yeats ago. Still holding up nicely. No
cutesy "pretty" wood for this work truck ! Photo too large to load, sorry.

I wish that was my bed. My truck came off a farm without any bed. I am building a wooden grain/express bed for it.
