Placement of speedometer head

Are there any photos or dimensions telling me where to install the speedometer head on a two piece firewall (early 1912)?

The hole for the cable has already been drilled in the floorboard so that sets the horizontal position. Im looking for info re the vertical placement.

Richjard, Place it so the top of the speedometer head is the same height as the top of the coil box lid. The hole in the floorboard should be directly below the speedometer input shaft. I hope thishelps, Russ Furstnow BTW, your pinion gear is in the mail.

Russ has already given an answer to your question but I thought this also might be of interest to you. I have this note that the previous owner of my "Late 11/early 12" Commercial Roadster, Ken Jones, made based on an original firewall for the car. My guess is that it corresponds with what Russ says. (I haven't gotten to the point of mounting the speedometer yet to confirm these dimensions)
