Demount tire rim.

I have ‘rollers’ that I’ve never worried too much about. Today after moving then out of the garage for a week and then placing them back today.

Look at the picture, please. This been welded? Or am I missing on how this particular latch works? Tube spun as you can see, at least want to straighten it out. Old eyes, not ready to get into it and find I can’t unlatch it

Thanks in advance

The short piece (right) sits in a rectangular hole. There was a latch that pivoted in the plugged hole.
The latch sat on that small shelf in the strap. Looks like a heavy coat of silver paint, not welded on the right side.
Tap it with a rubber mallet & see if a separation joint becomes more obvious.
If you are not familiar with this type of split rim, search the forum for pictures.

This is what it should look like.

You could put that rim/tyre on the opposite side of the car, under inflate it somewhat and take a slow drive until the valve stem is upright again, if that is your only concern.

Thanks all, I never noticed when I bought the 4 ‘rollers’ at Hershey that this one was different until today.

I’ll prob take Allan excellent advice and run it backwards on the next time I use a ‘roll’ 👍
