Returning 1925 headlights to stock. Parts?

The car I'm working on had a sealed beam conversion with a big relay that burnt it's fuses. The 6v sealed beam headlamps don't fit well, and the plan is to go back to stock headlights with a bright soft-white led bulb. I've got new wires to replace the shorted ones, and I'm ditching the relay (it got fried when the old wires shorted) as I'm hoping the stock wiring can handle the LEDs.

Is Langs 6500KITBL the way to go?

Did the aftermarket ever correct the trim-ring-that-doesn't-fit problem from years past? The ones I have may be originals but I can only get one to fit, but that may be because the 6v sealed beam was a bad fit.

Can you see anything done to the bucket that might make going back to stock not work?

Headlight buckets are straightforward. I would suggest you find nice original components rather than repo parts. Getting complete restorable headlights would be even better.

If someone here doesn't offer up a nice pair, contact Bob Bergstadt either here via PM, or user modelt2001 on eBay.

The availability of new sockets and plugs has been a bit hit and miss of late, so finding originals may be easier, and better. You will need them, two reflectors and springs, a pair of lenses and gaskets, two rims and I would suggest an internal ground wire. Finding a pair of used originals would be an easier and most likely more economical.
