Does anyone know where to find the wide head step bolts that were used on the 1915/16 T’s? They are 2 5/8” long, 1/4” wide with a large, flat 1” head.

Or, check with Lang's or Bob Bergstadt, seller modelt2001 on eBay.

Check at your local hardware store for "Elevator bolts". Our local Menards carries them, others probably do as well.

Take a chunk of steel bar, chuck it in a lathe and turn it to the size you need and mill the flats. That is what I do for all my antique cars. Elevator bolts are flat on the top and that is not what you are looking for. Step bolts have a smaller head then what you need..... Craig

I braze a washer under the head of a normal hardware shop carriage bolt and machine it to suit. This works for all sizes.

That is a good method, I have done that also.

They are step bolts, not elevator bolts. Try local Ace hardware. File the markings off the head and use muriatic acid to remove the cadmium plating before you paint them.

Older post on those hood former bolts. The shank is 5/16” dia. Head is approx 1” with low dome, not flat.
