Lost and Found

Several weeks ago, I repacked the front wheel bearings on my '20 Roadster. I THOUGHT I had tightenned the nuts and hubcaps on the Pasco wheels on re-assembly. Since then, I've given rides around town to an elderly nursing home resident, gone to Walmart, church, and a few errands. Last Wednesday I stopped at our church to drop something off and, while talking with our priest, glanced at the right front wheel that was missing a PASCO hubcap! The retaining nut and wheel were loose. On tightening up the nut I returned home and tried to retrac at least some of my drives from the last week to no avail. I took a picture of a remaining hubcap and posted it and a reward on several local Facebook pages. I also contacted the City of Pierre street department, who has been busy sweeping our streets. A former patient's husband contacted me and querried me on my loss. Then he drove some of my routes himself. Just after lunch last Thursday 2 street department employees stopped at our house with the hubcap! They wanted no reward but desired to see the car. They said someone in the department laid the hubcap on the desk in the main office. I'll now use the reward money to buy treats for that department if the good Samaritan doesn't come forward. Our city, the state capital, is small at 15,000. I love living here! :D

Count your blessings!!! That's one of the benefits of living in a smaller community, and residents who see you and your T's around town doesn't hurt either. Really good news......
