Marks on spindle

Question, I had a wobble on the driver side and after removing the outsize bearing, I found that the outside cup was cracked.
My question is this, would the marks as shown on the spindle require that it be replaced?
I have obtained another hub and and replaced all cups and bearings.

Someone placed the marks to tighten up the inner bearing cup. How does the new one fit?
Does it wobble? if so it might be safe to replace the spindle. If it doesn't wobble, probably OK to use as is.

Replace the spindle, probably your bearing too.

The marks are centre punch dimples. Each mark would have raised metal around it when first made. The idea is to make the inner bearing a firmer fit on the spindle.

By now, the raised edges will have been worked back down and the bearing is likely to be loose again. You could re-punch the marks and use Loktite bearing mount but the best way is to replace the spindle.
