HCCT question - the "mystery box" behind the coil...

After I finished putting together my new (Ford, I think) HCCT, I found there was a tin box under the frame, behind where the coil goes, looks like it was riveted or bolted to the frame, and 2 wires are coming from it... one quite short, one quite long...

Any idea what this is? I know, I probably should have checked it out before I got everything put together, but honestly, I was like a kid in a candy store when it showed up and couldn't wait to get it all together...

So, any ideas what this mystery box is? I'll try to post pix of it later...

Without seeing it, I would say that it is likely the inductor used as a load when using the device to do an in-car MAG test

Scott is correct - It is the inductor.
It should have two wires on it.
It is used to simulate the load of an ignition coil when testing the output of car magneto.

Here is the schematic that shows the inductor.
