looking for suggestions/recommendations for a professional who is capable of completely respokeing a front wheel for a '22 T that was in a collision. If anyone has a really nice wheel to spare, that would be just as good. Asking for a fellow model Ter who is not a board member. Please contact me via this forum or 716-652- 1832.

If the felloe is bent I would suggest replacing it as well. Also, check the hub for cracks or damage. Noah does a great job re-spoking but there are some limits as to what he can do with the steel parts.

Just be careful selecting a replacement felloe. There are differences which need to be taken into account when finding a matching item.

Being only 2 hrs. and 5 minutes from Stutzman's and having had Noah do many a wheel for me I can certainly highly recommend him, but given the O.P.'s location Calimer's might be the best choice due to shipping. However, if Calimer's is much higher in price, well, who knows! I don't "shop around" for wheelwright costs frankly, but I do feel Noah is very reasonable anyway. And it's of course a nice drive for us to go tour Amish country!

I have used both Calimer & Stutzman. Both produce a very nice wheel. However, the Calimer spokes needed a LOT of finish sanding and even some filling for small cracks/splits in the wood. Nothing that would affect the strength of the spoke, however. The spokes were later painted, so the fill was not a factor in the final appearance. The Stutzman spokes, on the other hand, were beautifully finish sanded, and ready for paint or varnish. In the end, I am happy with both jobs... but I really do hate sanding.

Spoke with Mr. Stutzman this AM. He is located about 4 hours drive time from me. He said he's not overwhelmed with work right now and offered to do my job WHILE I WAIT! Ordered a new hub. When it arrives I'll be on a road trip. Mr. Stutzman assured me as long as there are no kinks in my fellow any distortion could be corrected during the assembly process. I'm comfortable with everything I'm hearing here and from Mr. Stutzman.

You will be delighted with Mr. Stutzman's work. I hated to put paint on the wheels he did for me, but fought the urge to keep the "natural" finish and painted them midnight blue (1912) color.

Several years ago I commissioned "Johnson Wood Wheels" in Oklahoma rebuild my 30 X 3 and 30 X 31/2 wheels for and older 1915 high end era 1990 rerstored car.
I did lot of research and was most impressed with the preparation work Johnson used to ensure a quality work product and methodology used for delivery. These procedures are depicted on his website. Take a look.

I am aware of Johnsons in Oklahoma. Their website leads me to believe they do very good work. I called them yesterday morning and left a message and then sent an e-mail. So far, no reply at all! Called Mr. Stutzman late yesterday as he was on Steve's list, left a message and got a call back at 8:00am today. Based on references here, a timely call back, and within driving distance, Stutzman will be getting my business. Thank you Ron and everyone else who responded.
