Early slow speed adjustment

On early transmission covers the threaded slow speed adjuster has 4 flats for turning rather than 2 which we usually see. I thought that style existed only on 09-10 cars using the transmission cover with the squarish inspection cover. Ive recently seen a 1912 style aluminum cover with the earlier style adjuster. Any thoughts on when the change to the later 2 flat adjuster was made?

The print was changed 11/3/1910 to replace the nearly square head with 2 flats. An earlier change occurred on 2/23/1909 when the truly square head had the [sharp] corners rounded off to 5/8 diameter.

Thank you Dave!
That raises another question in my mind. When was the change made to the 1912 style trans cover. It was certainly after Ford changed fron the narrow to the wide one piece pan. Im thinking that chage occured maybe Feb or Mar of 1911. All that tells me the later style transmission cover was introduced after the 4 flat slow speed was abandoned at leat according to the prints.
My guess is the adjuster I saw was either an earlier style substitued or a later one cut down to make turning easier.
