Door Hinge Mounted Side Mirrors

My car has mirrors mounted to the upper door hinges. They seem useless, I can barely focus them and they dont keep the setting after a few miles due to vibration. Are they a silly add-on or would they be more effective mounted on the center hinge posts? If I want to remove them would I just replace with a standard pin?
The car has a wide rear view mirror, which is pretty effective.

I use one on my T, vibrates a bit, but I get a sense of a car passing me or not. You will need to put the standard hinge pin in when you remove the mirror.

Those look like the same mirrors I use on my Tudor. I have no issue with them and they work well. Have you set the little aliens into the hinge to prevent movement? If the mirror is moving on you, adjust them where you want, then place a dab of green loctite at the ball. It will wick in and keep it in place.

There are also 3 screws that tension the pivot ball. Tighten them a bit.

They move easier than the motorcycle ones I'm used to. I will try tightening up. I think looking up so high to them is something I have to get used to, I'm not that tall.
