It appears the size I need is 19L? but finding one? I will try tractor supply stores tomorrow but any suggestions please I did a battery forum search lots of info on battery carriers and 12 volt but could not find a recommendation on a good 6 volt battery

I have had very good results with Napa 6 volt batteries. My last one lasted 12 years.

I buy a Group 1 tractor battery at Peavey Mart.

Tractor supply have them in stock. At least at my local store. Remember to check the date of manufacture. Make sure you get the freshest battery.

Some Auto Zone stores carry them. The one here in El Cajon Ca has fresh ones. There should be a sticker on the battery with a date. Try to find one with a recent date. It will last longer. Group 1 6 volts. I have also ordered them from Napa. Those need to be ordered in advance. Takes a day or 2 to receive it at the store. It is the same battery as a standard Model A battery and some of the Chrysler cars in the 30's so not rare.

I bought my last one about 3-4 years ago from Federated. Deka I believe. Still going strong.

Fleet & Farm, TSC, Orscheln — whatever the local farm supply is. Don't let some kid tell you they're only for tractors.

I sprung for an optima sealed battery. No extra charging. No hydrogen. No worries.

Looks like a standard tractor battery. I have never gotten any more than three years out of them. Cells seem prone to shorting out. Paid up for a Optima Red Top 6 volt sealed battery. End of issues. And at 850 CCA as opposed to most other farm batteries 600 CCA, it rolls the engine over faster and it starts easier. No leaks either as it is sealed.

I purchased my last one at Big R. I started using a battery maintainer. It appears that has increased its life span for me.

If your looking for a T 6v battery buy a 6v group 1 battery. Common in older tractors, old cars and Model T’s. Get one at Auto-Zone, farm supply stores such as Tractor Supply and other related stores.

I have usually gotten 10 years use. Typically have to add some DISTILLED water after a few years use
On my 13 I have a Seadoo battery tucked in by the end of the gas tank. I charge it off the magneto. I am running a Tru-fire in a Heinz box

Eckler's used to sell a repro 6 volt FORD battery whose dimensions were 9-1/4" long x 7-3/8" wide x 9" high. Height is measured to Top of posts & 550 cold cranking amps. I some further searching and found that the BCI (Battery Council International) Group Size is 1. This battery size will best fit the physical dimensions, terminal locations and type required for your vehicle. A 19L may be too big to fit in the space available. Check it out
There are many 6 volt batteries available and group sizes, but the first thing to determine is what physical size do you need. While cold crank power is important another factor is charging. There are 6 volt "golf cart" batteries that are designed to withstand deep recharging. I came across some explanation of the common types available. AGM stands out as it is more resistant to vibrations and may be a good choice if you have a voltage regulator.
Flooded lead acid batteries are the most common type of battery you’ll find on the market. They’re versatile in terms of design and use. They come in a number of sizes and aren’t sealed. This means that you can replenish any lost electrolyte. These batteries have lead plates based on sulphuric acid.
Gel lead acid batteries utilize a thickening agent to keep the electrolyte still. It can’t move freely. This is great if you ride rough. If your battery gets cracked, it’ll still run smoothly. The one downside is that it’s completely sealed.
AGM lead acid batteries are relatively new. These batteries use a fiberglass separator to keep the electrolyte in place. AGM batteries are considered to be one of the most robust battery options because they’re spill-proof, resistant to vibrations, and hold up well to impacts.
