Today myself & fellow club member Jeff Swope took our Ts, my '13 touring and Jeff's '20 touring to an annual Civil War Winter Camp re-enactment at Fremont's Rutherford B. Hayes home and museum grounds, that our club was invited to supply early cars as available. Wow it was a great time. Between all of their various scheduled events we were slammed with eager riders. I put 22 miles on my Clara just in this estate area, I'd say around .5 to .7 mile each run. As always I love to take tons of pictures...I'll "hold back" so as not to go into overload!. I'll do the 5 here and some lore in addition. Hope ya enjoy. Jeff and I sure did.

Those cars could have belonged to actual Civil War vets.

Indeed Steve...this being the first year we were invited to bring cars, particularly any brass cars that could be mustered up. The guy in charge of this interesting event wanted to expand it as yes even 50 years after the Civil War there likely would've been many survivors owning/riding in Model Ts in the "teens" for sure, obviously less and less as the roaring 20's evolved. This was a welcomed addition to this event.

Good job Tim and Jeff.
Fifty years after Gettysburg, a reunion was held at Gettysburg. Sources say that there were 50,000 veterans attended. This was 1913, the same year as Tim's car. There were discussions of holding a 60 year reunion, but the thought was that there were too few veterans still living.
My great grandfather was a Civil War veteran and lived until 1927. He drove a model T up to his death.
